Other interests

I have never lost my childhood love of sports, and continue to devote an irrational amount of time and emotion to following the fortunes of Liverpool FC and Yorkshire CC. Actual time on the pitch or in the middle has been restricted in the past few years, something I would like to rectify.

A love of the mountains was instilled in me by my father, and I am gradually reconciling myself to the fact that, like him, I will eventually work my way through all of Scotland’s Munros. Although a recent trip to the Dolomites has widened my trekking horizons.

Four years in Spain left their mark in many ways; a love of full bodied red wines, fish and sea food, gin and tonic, were all cultivated in Madrid. Truly a great city, wonderful people, and second home.

If you would like to see me combining two of my interests, tea and history, watch this interview shot by good friend and comms ace Felix Valdivieso,
